I remember seeing an EG hatchback in Japanese magazine a while back with a supercharger and turbokit.. it looked powerful.. but it didn't create a lot of power. I think a supercharger would restrict the efficiency of a turbocharger at high RPM, wouldn't it?

ever see Rick Doberlins (sp?) twin charged BBC 65 Nova?
Two turbos sucking through Holley DP's, feeding a 8-71 blower.
Now think about the temps of the air/fuel mixture, damn near a diesel!

Didn't any of you guys read SCC's super car challenge from last year? The guy with the MR2 had a turbo and a Supercharger. After the turbo spooled up, the supercahrger would just open up (like when you are not in boost on the JRSC). So the supercharger would spool the turbo at low speeds and then the turbo would take over after it was fully spooled.
I believe there was also a Group B rally car that was turbo/super charged too. Lancia maybe? Those cars were the ugliest, baddest, most dangerous, ...
old school Audi S1 had owned all the other cars in group F in the 80th.
The fasted raly car ever. The WRCs nowadays are only little player compared to the old cars. The group F does not exist anymore

Naw it was supercharged and turbocharged. I remember back in HK i told my my buddy that it was impossible to do. I should have known better to say anything is impossible with cars. You can do anything if you have the $$

You sure that's not the "killer B's" you're talking about? Not familiar with "F". The S1 might be my all-time favorite car. What a beast! Probably the coolest (and weirdest) exhaust note I've ever heard due to that 5 cylinder motor. Sometimes it's kinda hard to tell what the engine sounds like because it backfires so often, the sound sort of blends into a constant roar.
Yeah, today's rally cars are nothing like the old ones... Courses have changed too though. Rally stages today remind me of fast autocrosses. They used to be a lot more open...
