Supercharger, AND a turbo possible?
Hi,
I have just bought a 2000 model Honda Civic 1.6 VTi (Si for you Americans) with a B16A engine, and I've been trying to research large horsepower gains (my goal is over 300bhp and if possible 400bhp over the next few years)...
Before anyone says anything, I have searched the forums, and found LOADS of info about superchargers OR turbos, and what's better and what have you... i dont really care what's better, they BOTH add power, so I want them both in my engine... is this possible? Has anyone done it? Any recommended kits? I was thinking of getting an electric supercharger, not the eram ones, but I've seen some on ebay that reportedly add 30 to 50bhp. And from reading these forums, it seems like a T3/T4 turbo is the best one to get? (Who makes them btw?)
Cheers,
iCEhOT

Re: Supercharger, AND a turbo possible? (iCEhOT)
Anything's possible, I know some diesel big rigs have a turbo mounted on top of the supercharger, so it's proven that it works. As for the electric supercharger, don't waste your time or money on it, it just doesn't work.
If you're looking for 400hp, I think you would be fine just going with turbo and built motor.

Sure its possible, but why waste time, money, sleepless nights over a super-turbo setup when you can EASILY achieve and surpass your power goals with just a simple turbo setup?
Why do it the hard way when you can do it the easy way? Unless you're just trying to 'show' to others (IF you have achieved the SC and turbo and a big IF) that what you have done is not a common thing and probably not something that has been done before in the UK and you are the 1st.........
Not worth the hassle

Re: Supercharger, AND a turbo possible? (This One)
If ppl do Tubo and NOS cars i dont see why a SC and turbo car couldn't be made..however i agree that with just a Turbo you can achieve 400whp on a B16.
