Supercharger Belt
I have a 1990 B16A CRX with a Vortech Supercharger on it.
The sc pulley is the 10 - 12 lb pulley.
In order to boost the 12 lbs David (the builder) changed my B16 crank pulley to a B18 pulley.
The thing is that the belt stretches fast. We did a day of testing and then took it to the track and the belt started to slip. We had room to adjust but as you can see the belt isn't going to last long.
We are using a gatorback belt.
Anyone out there know of a tougher belt with a longer life to it? I am using a 4 rib belt. I don't have problems with it coming off and haven't snapped one either.
When I put the car away for the night or till its brought back out again I do loosen the tensioner so the belt does not stretch while not in use.
If you know of a good brand or have experience with one I would like some information on it.
Thank you.

Re: Supercharger Belt
I'd suggest running less boost or a custom pulley setup. Unless your SC is aftercooled and ported, you won't make a whole lot more at 12psi vs less boost. However you are putting a much higher load on the belt & pulleys. Roger McDaniels (500whp SC thread) knows where to get custom pulleys made, and has a 10 or 12 rib on his M90 setup. However he has stretch issues too, and had to install a Ford Lightning auto-tensioner onto his belt. Purpose-built supercharger setups use belts with teeth rather than ribbs due to slipping.

Agreed.
Look into an auto-tensioning system. It will make the service life of your belts a little longer, but it is inevitable that you will have to replace belts every couple thousand miles.
I run the OEM K-Series autotensioner on my JRSC'd K20 setup, with zero belt slip issues. I replace the belt about every 5,000 miles or so.
