Supercharged Gs-R?
I was considering selling my g2 and buying a 3rd gen GS-R, then slapping a JR supercharger on it
I'm not going to go turbo, so just don't start
I was just trying to get an idea of how fast this ccar would be 1/4 mile
JR website has a dyno that shows 220hp

Your also looking at much less potential down the road and ultimately a waste of time since you WILL want to go turbo after you do this.

very true trust me if you save 1000 save some more and get a turbo i used to hate when people said" F*CK supercharger go turbo" but trust me i rode in each back to back and was about to buy a charger when i rode in the cars back to back jrsc on 9 pounds of boost then rode in the turbo on 5 punds of boost the turbo to me felt so much better. but its up to you do your self a favor and dont buy until you ride in both then make your choice.

those do seem like disappointing numbers for 215hp... especially if you only get a 14.5
I can build my DA, all motor to get 14.5's without a lot of trouble

as for the turbo stuff.... its just played out
I see the benifits, and I might actually consider a realy small, quick spooling turbo, but if I did that I'd just stick with my B20 DA. The problem is, the b20's don't like boost. I'm sure that if I only ran 5lbs, I'd be very safe though.

Its played out for a reason.
Look at the blower vs. turbo thread at the top, theres really no reason to go for a JRSC. Mine was incredibly unreliable, and I hated it.

um... I guess I'll be the guy that stands on the JRSC.. I've been in turbo cars/ sc cars but I still like my jrsc in my gsr because its just a fun daily driver for me.... a note to the original poster.. it all boils down to your own choice.. both routes are good but you just have to consider what you want to do with your car>

^ this guy is right it all comes down to what you want but before you knock something try it first. i was seconds away from buying a jrsc and then i took aride in this guys turbo teg with the greddy kit pushing low 6 pounds of boost and man the feel of the car compare to the jrsc was ten times better "for what i was looking for" everyones diffrent but just dont go out and get the charger untill you ride in a turbo car. it may make the diffrences and there is nothing worse then shelling out your money and then taking a ride in another car and knowing you car could feel the same for just a little more time to save. my friend knows first hand and is now selling his jrsc after having it in for 2 months but if you do decide to buy a charger my friend has one for sale you can pm me if you want it he will let it go for 1200 or maybe less it comes with btc msd and some other stuff.

I have a friend with a 99 gsr with NOTHING but a jr supercharger kit on 6 psi. Stock intake stock exhaust stock gsr blades and he got a 14.6 quarter mile. Not too bad with lots of room for improvement.

played out? its not a style, its not a fashion, if u go dont go turbo cuz too many people are doing it, then thats stupid. there should be better reasons for not going turbo then that.

I hit a 15.2 with a b20 with just bolt ons and not enough fuel... I'm sure I can hit 15.1 or 15 flat
taking a car with more hp to start with and supercharging it.. and a 14.6.... its not worth it

Every time I say that it drives 90% of HT mad... I just love it
you can keep your turbos...
honestly... seeing a turbo honda is about as exciting as seeing a Mustang roll off the assembly line
its nice... but nothing original

There is a reason why people alot of people choose turbos over supercharges.
1 for the most part people who are mod-ing out there cars are looking for alot of power and want to see big dyno numbers now if you just want a little kick and want to stay with that then a roots style blower is for you but you end up paying not far off of a turbo set up price but im not going to say anymore then i did my research and a turbo was for me.but roots style blower are nice to just not for my teg maybe if i had a LS1 motor or a 4.6 or 5.0 mustang.

I love my JRSC, I've been boosted now for a little over 3 years and as long as you keep up on regular maintenance ( changing both belts once a year) you will have fun daily driving. My best time is a 13.8 with full interior and stereo sytem with Kumho 712's all daily driven.
To each his own, maybe someday I'll buy another Civic and turbo it, but I am extremely happy with my JRSC...

I forgot to mention, all this was done using stock internals and only runing at 6psi... daily driven almost at 200k miles...
