I got my thermostat from hparts.com... its an OEM replacement
some coolant gets pushed into the overflow tank, but isn't that normal after driving? its not overflowing.. the level is just a little higher

One thing you have overlooked is the Radiator Cap
Go to the autoparts store if you haven't and get yourself a new cap.
Don't bother wasting your money on the overpriced ones from Spoon or Mugen when you can get one at a local AutoParts store for $10 bux or cheaper.
I you have a Discount Auto parts store, or AutoZone then the ones that they sell are rated at 13lbs.
