Default Stroker kit with turbo

So I did some searching and I saw alot of people gettin on the stroker kit and how you should just go boost. Couldn't I run a stroker kit with low comp pistons? That'd give me more boost and added displacement. What kinda of issues or problems would this run in to? I want to have more displacement without boring and the Brian Crower stroker kit allows you to pick your bore and compression ratio of the pistons that come in the kit. I figure if stroking the motor adds compression I could still get low comp pistons and run my turbo, right? Please lay down some of that honda-tech wisdom.

Stroke doesnt determine compression thats your pistons job. Stroking really respond to forced induction. Go with the low compression.

A longer stroke, along with increasing your displacement, will also broaden your powerband by shifting peak torqe to a lower RPM. However if you are entertaining the thought of using a larger turbo for top end efficiency, a stroker kit limits how high you should revv, and you should take that into consideration.

My ideal B-series turbo motor would be a 84mmx95mm 10.5:1 (2105cc) with a GT3071R. Your powerband would be sweet and long.

I'm running the peakboost kit with my set-up which came with this turbo: Garrett T3/TO4E 60 trim w/ .63 a/r. Would this be the big turbo that you refer to when saying that I shouldn't rev the full 8 rpm? How about even with a good tune?

I have no first hand experience, only what I have "read" online, but I have read a lot of horror stories about stroker cranks and honda's.

I have read many a thread of the actual crank istelf cracking into pieces.

Either put an LS crank in to GSR block or use one of the old preludes, that had the 95MM stroke.

Stay with OEM.

I have been running a bored and stroked gsr for a while now. It's an Eagle 95mm crank, eagle rods, and 9.0:1 CP pistons, also Darton sleeves. I'm running the same turbo using the original Peakboost ramhorn. This thing is sick all the way to 8,500 rpm's. At 10 psi it made 350 whp, and at 16 psi it makes 450, all on pump gas. The power below the curve is un-believable

sounds sweet...........how many miles have you driven on this setup so far? i always hear the 95mm stroke cranks like to chew up rod bearings frequently....

Thats why I run large drag radials. Tire spin can be controlled easier with throttle moderation when there is a broader powerband, its not super peaky.

As far as chewing up rod bearings, If the motor is revved past its efficiency point frequently than you might have a problem, but keep it under 8,500 and you're good. In a nutshell

Also, doublej did the engine, so I'm pretty confident with it

I have a best friend who just finished his 00 Si w/ B18C1 block and Eagle 95mm stroker crank, JE 10.1 custom pistons, Pauter Rods, Full-Race divided housing twin wastegate T4 mani w/ a GT4294R turbo. The head is a stock GSR head w/ full ferrea valvetrain and ITR cams. He also has a set of Crower turbo cams so we'll be trying that out also. He's looking for around 750-900whp. I know that's a broad number but that's what he's going for.

He's got to run his intercooler piping and tune. I'll tell you how it does.
