Ok guys, so i went to the track friday, here was the setup:

-d16z6 w/vitara/tunertoys block setup
-arp headstuds
-drag manifold (ebay knockoff)
-t3t04e 57 trim .50 compressor cover, .63 hot side stage 3 wheel (ebay)
-38mm wastegate (ebay with real tial guts)
-50mm bov (ebay tial with real tial guts)
-2.5" OD intercooler piping
-31" fmic
-680cc inj.
-forge mbc
-act 6 puck clutch
-stock head and intake manifold
-comp 59300 cam
-stock tranny and axles
-bogart pro-4 wheels w/ 24.5x8.5x13" M&H racemasters

friday at test adn tune the car went a best of 11.5@121 and 7.4@98mph on a 1.7 60, did this on 21psi in the motor, 9psi in the slicks, and the ambient air temp was 90*

went out saturday night and tuned the car up to 26psi, went to car wars at the same track sunday morning...

sunday the car ran a best of 11.5@121 and 7.4@98 mph on a 1.7 60, this time on 26psi and 90* ambient...

pulled the air filter off and did another pass and ran the same times again, turned the boost down to 21 again and ran the SAME TIMES... mph and all...

im confused to no end, the car runs the same times and traps no matter what i do...

so far ive heard that the turbo could be it, and that they really arent 57 trims, which im pretty certain of, since i measured the wheels and it didnt measure up to being a 57 trim, more like a 46 trim t04e... but either way, youd think id pick up SOMETHING going from 21 to 26!!!

can anyone shed any light on this??? im frustrated as heck...

nice progress man. I would probably say that the compressor is no longer efficient.

but to pick up NO POWER at all??? and the highest horsepower vitara setup is running one of these, ive actually see a few hihg 300's and low 400 whp setups with this turbo?

IS your BOV adjusted correctly? Maybe it's set too soft and is allowing boost to leak. Just a thought... I wouldn't think that would be it, but you never know...gotta start looking at all the little ****. BTW, what spring are you running in the gate?

10 psi spring in the wg...

and my bov is tial, its got an 11psi spring in the bov

this is the 2nd time ive hit a wall... ive over everything, cam timing, no boost leaks, my timing is right in line with most of the other high whp vitara guys...

i also keep thinking that 98mph in the 1/8 is worth more than 121 in the 1/4!!!

I'm not familiar with D series, so I'm just taking shots in the dark. WHat exhaust are you running?

I'm assuming you have a boost gauge or someway to monitor boost. Where do you get the boost signal from?

Just curious, you said you hit a wall powerwise before. What was the cause of that?

the wall i hit before was a t3t04b s trim lol...

im running an autometer boost guage...

i get my boost signal from the nipple on the back of the intake manifold where the purge was, its the only thing on that source, not shared at all...

I feel your frustration. I think one thing to consider though is that there is no way to know that all ebay purchased "57trims" are all the same?

Unless you have gotten in touch with some of those other guys and shared demensions, part#s or something to positively identify them.

just a thought...

just for comparisons, my 50trim wasn't do a hole heck of a lot after 25psi.

yea, im figuring im about maxxed, i guess im gonna have to bite the bullet and buya real garrett 57 trim...

honestly, i havent found anyone to compare meaurments, with, but the inducer of a 2.007 that they claim is a lot smaller than a 57 trim...


so im still lost, i guess i have no reason to be frustrated, since my junk 92 hatch witha single cam jsut went 121 mph... but still...

what does 121 mph in a full weigh cx hatch amount to whp wise??? anyone got any good guesses?

hey, i'm still trying to figure out why my 382whp turd drives is super laggy and will only go 111mph!


no, i'm half way there trying to figuring it out, its a wastegate spring issue.

i jsut figured the car was putting down more like 340-360???

iono, if its putting down 400whp then i knwo the turbo is maxxed, thats what my goal was anyway, i just dont understand how it could do that on 21psi???
