Default Strait T3 setups on a B20?

Well the search doesnt let us search T3, so i have to make a new thread... Im considering using a strait T3 instead of a hybrid on my drag kit. It will be for a B20 bone stock motor. Im looking for quick responce, - any sugestions- im thinkn about this:

Well you'd have 10psi before 3k, and that turbo would do 250-300whp if you push it to 15psi and have a good manifold/exhaust.

It will 'die out' as people say, but in this case, torque will drop while HP will still climb. IMO great turbo for a responsive, fast street car.

HIprofile pretty much nailed, it that turbo being smaller in size will reshape the powerband drastically, make it very linear, almost like having a bigger n/a motor with alot of low/mid range boost. what "straight" t3 did you have in mind?

I had the one posted in mind--

See, I am not a fan of revving my B20 up high. it simply wasnt made for revvs from the factory-
68 trim wheel, 0.48 a/r ported housing, are the specs--

Thanks for input+

t3 with .63 exhaust is small for a d series. why not rev it ? same stroke as b18a/b.

I put a IHI turbo off of a Murk out of the junk yard on a civic I use to have, same size as t3. It was fun as hell. Low end torque and didn't rev high enough to "fall off." If your not looking to spend alot of money I would buy a junkyard t3 but it is always better to get a decent turbo from the getgo. gt28 wink wink, nudge nudge.

longevity is a critical part for this build- I daily drive this car and im at college- cant really afford blowing it up...

thats probably one of the worst posts I have ever seen. Where anywhere did I say that I was not going to have the car properly dyno tuned?
The car will be setup with 750cc RC injectors, a Walbro 255, B&M FPR, a 3 bar map sensor, and a chipped p28, dyno tuned at RLZ engineering in Concord NC.

Honda did not engineer the B20 to be a rev monster at all, and I intend to keep it that way.

Phil- that looks sick

That does not make sense.

I think if you could use a t3 with a .63 housing and 60trim compressor (Tbird if you can find one) and a very good flowing wastegate setup it could be pretty fun in the mid 200s. I can't say I was ever satisfied with that kind of power but some people would be. Also, ditch that fuel pressure regulator, it's just one more thing to **** up on you. I don't see why you would not get a little bigger turbo though. I see you have planned ahead with your injectors. why not the turbo? early power (steep tq rise) on a fwd means wheelspin and wheelspin means slow.

projectdc2, why was that car on 100 octane? dont tell me it was knocking at those power levels. Must have been the worst flowing manifold and exhaust ever and no intercooler or something like that.

I was trying to figure out how he was saying that i had a D series, when i posted I had a b20 in the title and post?

I ahve a larger 57 trim hybrid, but with the driving I do, Ill never need more than 275hp or so- 250 will suite me fine. The injectors are just one of those things i had laying around from the last setup- I will be using the car on alot of twisties, so im going to tune the power down for dd to like 200whp, with decent tires it should do just fine im assuming. Then a high boost setting if i want to drag- 13 seconds should be pheasible in a 94 si hatch i think

tuner at the time doest like tuning anything on 91 octane more than 12 psi

ramhorn manifold, cca intercooler, tial gate, and ecutout exhaust back then

i think this was back in 2003/2004

now days we're pushing 500 pump 91 pump with no meth

I had a budget built civic, spent $2500 including car.
92 vx
d16z6
16g (the small one)
450 dsm injectors
basemap on crome
5" skinny winter tires

It ran a 13.6 1/4. If you put a t3 and some radials on, it should be a 13.0 car.

i am now considering goign a tad bigger- Such as a T3to4b- any suggestions? The t3 super 60 seems to be a little expensive for a small turbo from the looks of it?

ah i know, but just too much money for me-
im considering a 50 trim borg warner .55ar now that ive spoken with a knowledgable person on the board-

just worried about spool coming in too late, and halfway through a turn, roasting tires and understeering into a tree lol

That would only be driver error no matter how you look at it...

hm- i guess it could be somewhat, but lets say im acelerating into a strait, and im at 5kRPMS when i hit the turn, and im going through the turn, at the apex begin to accelerate- at 5k acceleration may light up the tires i feel -

well see tho... lol
