Re: STR intake manifold Need instructions!!? (Flamenco-T)
yeah i did spary alot of Carb Cleanner all around the Vacum sources, but i did not find any leaks, but there is one thing on the intake manifold that is always sucking in air, i dont know if it takes a vacum hose or not because when i put a hose there my cars ideal drops to 413 rpm but when i dont it goes back to normal??!

check your coupler on your throtle body. my buddies was doing the same thing and it turned out there was some air "whistling" by the coupler.

when i plug it the engine die</TD></TR></TABLE>There can be no open holes anywhere in any intake manifold. Something else is wrong. Try adjusting the stop on your throttle body to open it more. You must start by plugging the hole and work from there.
I would assume if you have the engine running and you rev it up a little and then plug the hole with your finger, the engine keeps running?

That is an optional vacuum port. You can plug it up or use it as a port. If you do plug it adjust your throttle body to allow more air. You may have turned it down to the vacuum leak/ open port prior and not realized that was it. give us a call 909-272-2150 If you have any other questions.

Re: STR intake manifold Need instructions!!? (earl)
I remember the old style STR manifold does have a small port that was left open since I installed them several times. The port is not open to inside the manifold but leads between IAC and out side air source. If I remember correctly, on stock manifold, IAC get air source through a small hole that extend outside of the the mani reaching to the throttle body. Because STR sheet metal mani don't have that passage, IAC rely proper idle air source from that little port. Note: If you look at it closely ( held it up against the light), you can see the port leads to one of the two port IAC get air source from.
As for the whistling sound, try to tighten the throttle body bolts that attach to the mani some more, I had that problem once.

Re: STR intake manifold Need instructions!!? ([Evo]Hybrid)
Yea my intake manifold is the older one of the str line up and if i block that vaccum hole my car gets an CE code of 14 which is indicates IAC valve falut, another thing is that i am running a stock gsr TB on this large intake manifold but i did find a leak it was on my vaccum tank there was a hose hanging from the tank and was not conected to anything else.. man when i blocked that my car was back to normal.. but it still makes that noise.. im guessing its becuase of stock TB

Re: STR intake manifold Need instructions!!? (TurboB18C1)
you sure the sound is not coming from that little port which is sucking air in to idle so it's making the whistling sound? Doesn't matter what TB especially stock, it should not make a whistling sound.
