Default Intake manifold failure

Hey guys,

One of the tubes of the intake manifold rusted and cracked so theres fluid that is coolant that is leaking all over. Has this happened to anyone and is there anyway to patch up the manifold or do I have to get a new one?

What?

Coolant doesn't pass through the intake manifold. Your problem isn't the intake manifold. Your problem can be any number of things and you're going to have to be more descriptive.

Also, ready the stickies. You're required to post the vehicle make, model, and relevant modification. Otherwise, we can't help you.

^Maybe he/she is referring to the typical coolant outlet near the #4 runner.

Or maybe he's talking about the hose from the IACV, that would leak coolant.

99 Honda Civic EX vtech

Its the intake manifold. Air goes from the intake, to the throttle body, through the intake manifold and into the head. The metal tubing that connects rubber tubing with coolant to the manifold rusted out and cracked so its leaking coolant and making the car overheat. According to my mechanic he said the entire piece needs to be replaced.

I think we all understand what an intake manifold is and how it's used, you're not clarifying what tube you're referring to. If it's the one I mentioned above you can try to JB weld it if you feel lucky. If the manifold itself is fully intact and the tube is the only part that is damaged you should be able to remove it and use a threaded tap to install you're own threaded bung if you like. But until you clarify what tube you're talking about it's difficult to give you any sort of solid advice.

24Ten, it sounds like he's talking about the exact same thing you mentioned.

The bronze fitting that's threaded into the manifold. Shown right above #22 in this picture (it doesn't have a number)

Yep that's my guess as well. I don't know if it's threaded though, might be press fit? Anyways, now that there's a diagram OP please confirm if that's what you're talking about.
