Default stock pistons

I know this has probably been covered, but the search function really sux. I have a d16 motor and am wondering how much boost my stock pistons can handle. I have crower rods, so I'm not worried about my rods. I am running 8 psi on this setup right now properly tuned. Am I going to have any problems with my pistons?

At 8psi with proper tuning, no. They should be fine. Nice choice getting the Crower rods, the stock D16 rods are way weak.

well, if you're worried, I have three srp pistons for a d16 for sale cheap!! I threw a rod on cylinder #3 and the piston was damaged.....the other three are in very good condition. Or, I also have a set of Arias for the d16, used for like 3k miles, nothing wrong with them......will sell for $300 shipped.

I would worry about the crap stock pistons before I would about the rods! I've seen the pistons melt and ring lands go and rings melt into the pistons, with all that then comes the rods going.

Thats why I left my stock rods in and am replacing my stock pistons with Arias for my 10psi sohc vtec application.

But I mean if you got a deal on the rods how could you refuse. but I would certinaly wait for pistons to install them.
