stock ls rods
what are stock ls rods able to handle for revs wiht proper tuning i was thinking of taking them to 7500 and redline is like 6800 revlimiter is 7200 was thinking of changing revlimiter to 7500

ive taken them to 8200 plenty of times when it was stock and even now that its boosted. i dont have arp rod bolts either. I shouldnt really take it that high but I do.

That doesn't mean you will make any power up there. All the LS cars I've tuned (and you can look at other dyno graphs) show that the LS head and Intake manifold starts to drops off RAPIDLY after 6,500rpm. It doesn't matter even if you have great rods and pistons and a built bottom end. If the head is left untouched then the rev limit of 6,800 is the perfect shift point for best power. I've noticed a tad higher like 7,000 works as well.

All the LS cars I've tuned (and you can look at other dyno graphs) show that the LS head and Intake manifold starts to drops off RAPIDLY after 6,500rpm. It doesn't matter even if you have great rods and pistons and a built bottom end. If the head is left untouched then the rev limit of 6,800 is the perfect shift point for best power. tru but that was not the case on my LS granted this wanst a stock bottom end.. 85mm with a 62-1.. i was taking this motor to 7800 with the stock head w/blox IM

That'll help considerably. Were you actually making power up that high though? Did you dyno it?

yes i was.... and it was on a dyno but dont have the graph...
i guess a 85mm with a 62-1 helps a lil
