Stock LS at 17 psi.
finished up the new turbo set up on the car ran a few new lines and took it out for a spin, built boost awsome in 2nd shifted when tires started spinning at around 5500 rpm and didnt watch the boost, hit third, got into it a bit more and the tires started spinning again and the tach jumped up of course, i glance away from the boost gauge to look at the tach. my eyes dart back to the boost gauge and its creeping just over 15 by now. then BANG!
feering the worst i clutch in and the car dies. it was all downhill to my house so i just coasted. get out and look for holes and broken bits and nothing. come today i go to look at it again, no visible damage so i decided for ***** and giggles to start the car. starts and idles fine, but with a bit of a white smoke and one mangled *** headgasket. then comes the thought, why in the expletive didnt my wastegate open? i go over everything, i mean everything and it all checks out, go to run a vacuum pump on the top port of the wastegate to check the spring and the damn thing wont open, run it up to 50 psi of vacuum and still nothing, of course by now the vacuum line was crushed but only half way. the stupid vacuum line was solid half way down. so choked. a 2 dollar part almost cost me a motor.
cliff notes:
new manifold and downpipe and a few misc. lines
take it for a drive
boost the **** out of it
destroy headgasket
never putting vacuum line on a motor without checking it again.

What port of the wastegate were you hooked up to?I zip tie every vacum connection and always install new silicone vacum hose.Sucks to hear that time to build a motor
