Stock GSR manifold with boost question?
I have a turbo setup with a stock GSR manifold with the stock IAB setup tuned with hondata.
Now I believe the IABs are vaccum operated when a selonoid is activated which allows vaccum to act on the diaphram to open the IABs.
I never really gave it much thought about how the system would opperate with boost until the other day.
Under a boosted condintion it is my thought that the IABs will not work because they will be forced closed by the boost acting on the diaphram....effectivly working in reverse of how they would with vaccum....
Any imput on this?

Have you visually seen the IABs stay open under boost?
I know the electrical side of things work fine, but I'm not sure about the mechanical side.

nope, but when we were street tuning, jeff was messing around w/ different opening points and there were noticable differences...so i guess the were working ok w/ boost

I was thinking as long as there is a vaccum canister with a check valve the system should work fine with boost.

If you are in doubt, use a canister and check valve. I have used this solution on boosted NSXs several times.

The OEM setup should have a check vlave anyway, otherwise the air would bleed back into the vaccum cannister on NA applications
I figured it makes sense to keep IAB's to help turbo spool, then once you have reached your boost threshold IAB open to help feed the engine air
