...And it starts tonite...
hey guys, been watching, researching, and more researching and the time has finally come. The setup is going on. I Finished my last exam ( advertising ) and started what seems to be my endless turbo work. Tonite i started with my resistor box and dsm 450s. Tomorrow, the world!
actually tomorrow i'll but chopping up my bumper support for my intercooler, bolting her up, running the intercooler piping, (hopefully) having a friend weld a bov flange, and the 2.5 TB-IC piping all up, and hopefully the oil pan schanangens. I have a pretty full day so everything wont get done, but I am trying to finish before we take the ol' family vacation. Here is what ive gathered up over the past couple months.
*Garrett T3 60trim 48 a/r
*Lovefab SS shorty mani
*Tial 38mm wg .5 bar
*1g dsm bov
*1g dsm injectors
*resistor box
*Flamenco T oil send / return line kit
*pwr style 28x8x3 intercooler
*2.5 and 2.25" charge piping + clamps
*GReddy Full Auto Turbo Timer
*Autometer a/f and boost guage
*k&n filter w/ velocity stack
*your assorted flanges and nonsense
*uberdata technology + innovate wideband 02
*3" apexi style muff (not sure if im going to be using)
*lots of 3" bends for downpipe and possibly 3" exhaust... afraid of creep.
Well I will be updating this hopefully daily and here is a little shot of whats to come...
not sure if i want to make a hole in my frame to run intercooler piping the traditional way or go up through the hole w/ the windshield washer resovoir sits... ahh yes..decisions decisions.

Re: ...And it starts tonite... (integranator)
here's where i leave her tonite...and pick up tomorrow.
yea needs some work...
hows that saying go? function over fashion? i dunno...
can you see their blueness?!
brackets freshly welded (not a bad job eh?)
and what i get to do tomorrow...
im guessing full spool around 3500 or so, torque to 6500-7000 or so, and hopefully i can squeeze hp up to 8000 or 8500...but ill be happy nevertheless, finally some go down lo.
any HP predictions? i might bump down to a 5 pound spring if it creeps over the 7.25 i expected... im guessin 190 with 150 tq or so... who knows, i just know it'll be fun to have power below 6000 rpms for a change...

Nice lookin setup and best of luck with your install. i'm not sure if you'll get full boost (7ish lbs.?) by 3500rpm, that's when i get a full 9 psi on my 54 trim, .63 a/r, turbo. i have the 2.5" drag downpipe and lower compression than you, though, so who knows. keep us posted with problems/progress.

Definitly keep us updated, I'm still in the gathering parts process but my final setup will be similar to your's and I also have a g2. I see you post on g2ic some aswell.
Anyway, good luck! I plan on finishing mine up around beginning of febuary. Have my last exam tomorrow
Gathered so far
SC50
Lovefab shorty
Lovefab downpipe (intregrated dump)
pwr intercooler
dsm bov
oil feed
looking to use hondata and rc 440's for tuning and fueling

Re: ...And it starts tonite... (Too_Smooth)
yeah... 92-93's have saturated....
I used a sawzall on mine and it was still a bitch. My cooler is only 6" tall though, so I just cut off that damn seam that runs along the bottom of it.

Haha, I just got done finishing up my kit. I did it just like you did redgsr, planned out what I was going to do each day. I am also running 450s only I used inline resistors. I cranked it up on the stock ecu(my hondata ecu comes in tomorrow) just to check for leaks. I had only 1, it was in the feed line coming out of my flamenco T kit feed kit. I just teflon taped it some more and its fixed now. Good luck w/ the rest of it.

Re: (88civicHB703)
I haven't acutally mounted the cooler because I'm in the process of getting tabs welded onto it (its a pwr).
I kinda dry fitted it though, this is all I have.....
I moved the horns in behind the bumper lights, I just used existing bolts. As you can see the power steering lines are right in the way, my intercooler is 3" thick and as of now it needs to be set back an inch or so (mabye a little less) so the bumper will fit on. I plan on moving the power steering lines behind vertical bar infront of the rad.
Before I cut the seam and moved the horns...
Sorry the pics are so small, imagestation is lame...
Anyway, yeah by the looks of your intercooler you will need to cut into the bumper support (more that just cut the seam) of elts it won't fit

Re: (Blackack26)
you can remove this line in this pic.
follow where the tube goes, and where it meets the rubber take the one end off and loop it into where the other end goes into..if that makes sense to you.
