The car makes a loud tapping noise when I turn the key. Is that the starter? The last few days the car has been very slow to start as well. Also, how much do starters usually run? And which one do I get for a first gen b16? Cable tranny.

Dood, its your battery,, if you turn the key and you hear a loud click-click-click-click noise its your starter's solenoid pushin the gear in and out hella fast becuase it does have enough power to make it stay out and turn the motor, due to a low battery. ive ran into this problem many times. get a buddy's car next to yours and jump it, she'll pop right over. if not, its your starter, somehow.
