Standalone problem
Looking for a little help here. My buddy has a 2001 prelude that he is going to boost and he is going to use a fmu. He would like to do a standalone fuel management but we are running into a little bit of a problem. I know in order to get the standalone to work i had to get a new ecu and convert to OBDI. However the problem is this:
His car is a tiptronic or sportshift, whichever you want to call it. So in order to get the standalone for his boost project we have no idea what ecu to use. Since his transmission isn't exactly auto, and it's not quite manual, we don't know which route to go. He said he checked with hondata and they said they only made it for manuals. Where do we go from here? does anyone know what would work? Thanks ahead of time for the help.

Re: Standalone problem (97blueteg)
I would check into the Efi systems Pms. It is a piggy back system but it works really well. It is very user friendly, and will allow you to use your stock ecu , and should allow you to keep you tip tronic. This thing is capable of a lot of the features you get with a standalone but you are limitend to changing your stock map. There web site is http://www.efisystems.com, but you probably will have to call them.
