Stand alone users, what do you set your Target Air Fuel Ratio to while driving.......
What are you guy's setting it to while driving on the freeway at half throttle. I'm working on my gas mileage, and have been experimenting with it a bit and just wanna see what everyone else has theres set at. For instance, under vacum, I have my AF ratio set at 16.0 from 4000 to 8000 rpms. This is only when I am driving on the freeway with no boost what so ever. So far i'm on target to get 20 miles per gallon.
So share any ideas you might have on this issue .

hey bottoz:
can you show me your timing map like that as well? I've advanced mine, and it feels like its making more safe power, but I'd like to see if I'm too agressive, or if it normal for 94 octane and 9.3:1 compression.
steve
You must get good gas milelage by running a little lean while in low load.

Off boost is set for 14.7 and 1 degree advance in timing (GSR with Drag kit and Hondata). I'm getting ~27city / 32hwy

I ran closer to 15.5:1 to 15.7:1 while at crusing speeds.

From my experience 14.5 is excellent for part throttle on a turbo car.

Here ya go, During VTEC I have it set for +2º. Also, if you scroll up I've updated my TargetAFR to my current scales.

Looks to me to be abour 16.4.
Your timing maps are pretty conservative IMO. I run about 23-24 degrees up top.

Stock ECU is not programmed to see boost.....but here is an image compliments of the AEM board.

Oh, I know that. I just wanted to see what timing is set at idle on a stock ecu. Compared to yours, mine is totally different at idle. My tuner set mine at 44 degrees at idle.

With a 90 lb injector for example you have to run 40 degrees or so to burn up the fuel. The bigger the injector the more timing you must run at idle to compensate.
