Default Stage 5 CC clutch problem

All started off last week. Was out at the local meet and went to run a guy. After coming back I noticed a loud clunking noise on start-up. I knew it was engine cause it would stop if you let the clutch out. So I get back and tear the car apart to find that the big steel disk of the pressure plate has broken the rivets holding it to the pressure plate basket. I've only had this clutch for >1000 miles. The disk still looks brand new. Not even dirtly! Was also broken in properly & Im using a CC flywheel to match(pressure plate is the HD one too).

The biggest problem is that I bought the clutch through the guy I was working for at the time(and we are not on good terms). So I dont have the paperwork for it etc, but it was straight from CC. What should I do? Do you think that should be warranty?

ive had 3 CC clutches all let go at the rivets, no disrespect to CC but their clutches are junk. I understand that they might stand behind their product, but such failure shouldnt even happen. The clutches werent even old, within months of install.

Me too. All I've ever heard about them is good stuff. I've had mine for about two months and 3k miles or so, and haven't had any problems, although it's still pretty early.

I had a stage 4 for about 30k daily abused, I mean really abused and just last month 1 of the springs on the disk finally broke off. I'm happy it lasted 30k miles for a stage 4 that was abused like crazy

you guys are probably using old style pressure plates and discs
CC has redone most of their PP's and discs. eliminating the problem

also, if you beat the **** out of something (which i know 99% of you do) it will break.
powershift 1 time and boom, driveline shock is going to break the weakest part first, and thats generally the clutch.

The thing that gets me is that it broke on the street (while on 205/55-14 Drag radials) Thats prob equal to a 22" tire. Not very much stress in my opinion.

Im bout to call here in a while. Been too busy to worry about it esp with one of my friends in the hospital.

purpose of these clutch are to beat the **** out of em, whats the need for it if u aint gonna abuse it! It should stand the abuse, if it don't then it's junk!

If you call driving the car easy as possible and only running from roll runs "trying to break it" then I guess thats what I was doing. I've just never seen something like this happen.

BTW I called him and he (adam) was VERY cool, and is gonna ship me a Return slip. So they can check it out. Im 100% positive they wont say I "abused" it.

So A+ for customer service. We'll see what happens.
