Re: srp pistons (b18 hatch mike)
SRP got their bad reputation over a decade ago by having more fragile ring lands than stock pistons. I, among others, continued to bash them for years. JE/SRP deserved it for selling crap like that. Okay, the buying public made their point.
JE at some point cleaned the SRP line up... it's been a decade, you know? In the last few years I'v tuned a number of setups with them making as high as 585 whp on 81mm units, no failures. I wouldn't have a problem running a set in my personal car.

Re: srp pistons (b18 hatch mike)
I'm running SRP/JE pistons in my single cam. Close to 500hp with no problems at all. Too much timing and blown headgaskets another story! lol

Re: srp pistons (b18 hatch mike)
I've had SRP myself. I rebuilt my motor in 8/05 and it is still running. I was boosted to 248 whp on my B16 for 17K miles and I am now at 24K miles total, but I am NA at the moment. They act more like OEM pistons on the fact that they don't expand as much so you could run them with tighter piston-to-wall clearances.

Re: srp pistons
I pushed my srps a little too far and melted one. Probably wasn't the pistons fault, trapping high 130s in the 1/4. For good or bad rebuilt it with wisecos.

Srp's have a higher silcone and therefore expand less. They have a little less strenth than say cp pistons but rattle less at startup due to their ability to run tighter clearances. These piston I think are ideal for street cars even though the only one's I had melted. Like the other guy said probably not the piston fault. I am currently searching for some more so if anybody has some let me know.

Funny, I have yet to see SRP blow out intake valve reliefs like clockwork. Sure, it's a weak spot in the B-series piston design, but I've not seen it first hand out of any other brand.
