Default sr20 guru's...help a brotha out

Im about to get a 91 240 and of course its not gonna stay stock for very long. But im not the type of person that dives into anything without ALOT of research...so i was wondering if you guys could point me to a good site for 240's? Ive searched around and the only thing that i found that had any info was 240sxforums.com or something like that...but i want something like h-t only for nissans. And ill take any opinions and suggestions that you want to give. Thanks.

Sean

Big warning!!! What out for engine importer scammers! Do not buy an engine or clip without being able to see it first. Avoid this "pay me and I'll get you a clip ****" Even if the price is really good chances are they are going to scam you.

My one tip would be to consider turboing the stock KA. Go to the NICO boards and there is a disscusion board there for turbo KA's. Do alot of research on it. Think about the money saved from not buying an SR and you may find a turbo KA is your better option. If your car has an engine that is in good shape and a good tranny too. Not saying the SR sucks but it is a bit over priced IMO. In Japan a compleat SR swap is about $500....over hear 1500 is the best price for a compleat swap.

Me and a couple buddies did a sr swap over the last spring break. The car still runs great today and has been abused at some HPDE's. It's a very straight forward swap and easy to do...we did a lot of **** we weren't suppossed to but if I ever did it again it's like a 1 or 2 day thing easily.

Yes check out the KA turbo setup. My friends who have 240s have shown me some nasty dynos of the KA on really low boost making tons of TQ and hp. The seem to respond really well to boost. Tinker219 on here might have some manifolds ready for the Sr and Ka too, ask him.

Watch out for the scammers. It seems that there is twice as many in the nissan community than Honda, maybe because its the *new* fad, idunno. Also like someone said above about clips.... I cant agree more, if you dont see it first DONT buy it. There is alot of **** getting sold out there, one of which i bought.

The SR is way over priced for what you are getting now. After getting fucked on my rb20, I have decided to go with a CA18det. Its an older motor, but the internals are strong as **** and it is designed the same way as the RB motors, unlike the SR which is totally differant.

Good luck with your project, be patiant and research the people that you will be buying from more than anything.
