Default squeeze vs. boost-stress level

just wondering if nitrous puts more stress on cylinder walls than boost. i see alotta people build over 400whp on a stock block with boost. but i'm being told that on a nitrous motor i should limit myself to a max of 250whp so i dont split the cylinder. so i'm putting a block guard which now i'm reading isn't gonna help much. so what's your input? any experienced nitrous people out there that can help? also i'm building a d16y7 if that helps. i don't know if these blocks are weaker than others.
any info is appreciated.
