Default Spraying v6 accord AUTO!?!?

My roommate is interested in spraying a lil nitrous on his '02 accord v6. I'm fairly certain that the internals of the engine will hold up, but i'm not familiar with that transmission. We're looking at 60-75 shot... wet, single fogger.

I'm not too versed in the art of nitrous, so i figured i'd ask around a bit before we make a dreadful mistake and pop a tranny he can't afford to replace. Anybody tried it? heard of people trying it? have a guess at how much the tranny will take before it gives up?

Another concern we were pondering is whether or not the transmission will shift quickly enough as the rpms will be climbing significantly faster.

Any advice or info will be appreciated. Thanks.

The stock trans is definitely a weak point. SCC did a feature on a boosted V6 Accord a few years ago. They basically smoked the trans during testing, 'crunching noises' if I recall. I think nitrous would be even more destructive because the power comes on so rapidly

Not only is the trans a weak point, but some automatics tend to bounce off the rev limiter alot. That's not good news when spraying. .

I had an 01 accord V6 running a zex 65 shot, and have had no problems until recently. I would recomend upgrading to an additional tranny cooler and running Redline High Temp Trans fluid. I am very hard on the tranny and it eventually started wearing out the clutch discs, and burning the bands in the tranny. With just the juice, intake/headers/exhaust it went from a 15.8 to a 14.3 1/4 mile. If he wants to stick with the v6 i would recomend sending the tranny to Level 10 for upgrades, or else ditch it for an H22 like i did. The level 10 mods would run under a grand for the tranny upgrade and the torque converter. Hope this help in his decision.

Thanks for the info. He's definately gonna have to stick with the v6 (budget..) and may not be able to afford the level 10 upgrades either. The transmission cooler and redline fluid is easily attainable. Think that'd get it?
