Default Spooling up questions, please help confirm the answer...

Hi, I just purchase a garett t3/t4e 60 trim (a/r .63) and the person who sold it to me said this turbo will spool up around 200-300 rpm faster than a garett t3/t4e 57 trim (a/r .63). Is this true??

That depends on a few things. It may cause of the turbo size, but I do know those turbines well enough to tell you off the top of my head. DP size, engine size, and WG setup and charge pipes all can contribute to how fast or slow you build boost. Good luck,

Blaze

Not at all. The trim is actually a little bigger, which means it will flow a little bit more air, but the wheels are the same and the a/r is the same, so basically you'll get almost the exact same spool up. Why would u go from a 57 trim to a 60 trim?? Theres very minimal difference.

I bought the 60 trim not the 57 trim but Im just curious if its true that a bigger wheel will spool faster than a smaller one?

Theres no way it spools faster if everything else is equal. Either same or slower since the wheel is bigger.

yup, bigger wheel = slower spool but more flow. You could get a smaller turbine housing to bring it back down closer to the 57 trim. it will still be slower though.
