Default Spark Plug Readings

I took out my plugs today to see what they look like, since I hadn't done it in a while. I know i'm running rich because they are black, but what concerns me most is that there is some speckly deposits on it. Can I also be detenating? The car seems to run fine. By the way, I use a mixture of 100 octane and 91 octane when I full up. I'll try to post some pictures if I can get my hands on a digital camera.

Thanks

There's a 76 station that sells 100 octane in my area. I usually put like 4 gal. of the 100 octane then fill the rest up with 91.

white speckles usually means that your detonating, but i think you know that.

also, it can mean that you have water in your combustion chamber,i.e. broken head gasket, or sucking in water.

I thinking I might of had alittle detination by looking at the tops of the pistions through the spark plug openings, but I'm thinking that the speckles might be from octane boost or fuel additives.

so what does it mean when you have whitish coloring around the edges of the plug? its more faded white color than black.
