Default Spark plug question

I am about to put back together my 96 prelude vtec. I am going turbo now also. My question is can I still use the oem spark plugs. Someone told me I should get some aftermarket plugs instead cuz the oem platinum wont handle the boost, because of the heat. Can you guys tell me what you recommend.

Try search.

Quite a few people recommend NGK bkr7e-11 plugs. The 7 series are one step colder than stock and are better for a turbo car. Mine are in the mail.

Used to use the NGK-bkr7e-11 and switch to NGK-bcpr7es-11.......both are good spark plugs to use....

What's the diff between these two plugs? I see that they're in the same heat range...

I'm running 8's with 8lbs of boost, no complaints.

Here's my thoughts on this. . . .

Yes you need to run a step colder. Everyone here says to use the NGK BCPR7E-11. This is true for tegs, the stock plug is a 6. Hence you go down to the 7.

Now in my case I have a civic. The stock plugs are ZFR5E (somthing to that effect). People tell me I should use the BCPR7E-11. Well that is TWO steps colder. I figured I should be using the 6's.

For Preludes I don't know the stock plug.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? What is correct? 1 step colder for tegs and 2 steps colder for civics? Are the civic folks using the wrong plugs?
