I have the edelbrock kit and today something weird's going on. At WOT between 5k and redline I get power loss, a weird fast faint backfire noise, and a smell like something is burning. This is all heppening after I installed my catch can. It's homemade from pvc pipe and baffled with red srubbie pads. Do you thin the pads may be breaking up and getting in my motor? Would that answer all my weird stuff going on? I could dissconnect it and see if that works but it's dark outside. I would love some opinions. Thanx guys.

Ding ding ding...if all is running well before installing something new, and then things start ******* up....chances are its the thing you just installed.

You choice of words for the topic title are **** POOR as well...

 

but would you be able to smell something like that burning in your engine?
