Default Is this some thing to brag about?

My sisters bf has a Yamaha Raptor. this thing is no where near stock. It is bored over (not sure how much) but it should be at 750cc. 13:1 compressor, long trailing arms, longer forkes. almost everthing has been replaced. to make a long story short he wanted to race me. we did it from a roll on at about 10 mph, when we took off he left me by about 3 bike lengths, but when i shifted in second i started to catch up to him and by 3rd i left him by 2 car lengths.

Is my **** fast or is his **** slow.

Where'd you race? On a dirt track?

What do you drive again?

ok let me get this straight..........we're talking a raptor vs your SOHC civic?

is the raptor a 2 stroker like the banshee? im not up on my wheelers, but he should have left you by about 10-20 bike lengths, and it should have been no contest for him. you've never seen a 2 stroke out of the hole with about 120 HP on a 450lb machine?

2 stroke with 120 hp, no way. Raptors i believe top out at 80-90 mph out of the box. also depends on the tire pressure

the z400 is suzuki's version, they dropped the DR-Z400 motor in it. Its pretty damn fast, but no where even close to a street bike. Ive riden the z400 quite a bit, it runs up there with the raptor. 85 mph out of the box. He shouldnt really smoke you. Id say it was about normal, you should have walked him down soon after you guys jumped.

Those things are supposed to be about as fast as a banshee in a straight line i've heard. He he has all the work done to it that you say, he should have pulled on you by car lenghts out of the hole.

But, are you really sure he has what he says he has? 750cc? No way he's getting a 90cc displacement increase from a bore. The thing would probably be into the water jackets. If its a stroker, thats a different story. Bottom line: either he cant drive a bike worth a ****, or its not that worked.
