Hallo everyone, I have few questions about boosting b16a2, or maybe some other b16(not B16B)...

Ok, so, as far as I know, for boosted d16 weak point is rods, which is weak point of b16's?

Is there anyone who has put b20 head on b16 bottom end? Could it work for boost, with stock internals? this way I could practice tuning boosted car... as far as logic, with b20 head it should have some low CR, right? in my country b16 botom / b20 head longblock would cost about 150-200$, and, maybe, I could put down some good # ???

I'm just asking cause in future I'm thinking of swaping out D for B, and then, maybe, boosting it but for start, as b16/b18vtec heads ar gold valued, dont want to mess them up, I'm thinking of getting b20 head and swaping it onto b16 block, for some starting point - boost tuning practice and maybe some good results, and checking how big power can b16 block hold up with my tune - so when I put b16 head back, I wouldnt mess it up

I have no clue why you would want to put a non-vtec head on a vtec block in the 1st place??? And you said d16 rods are weak? How much power are you wanting to make because I don't think 280-300whp is all that weak. With proper tuning and good gas a stock d16 can make good power.

What is in your car right now? If it is a d-series then just boost it and practice tuning with it.

 

dont know man... I just wanted maybe b16 boosted, cause in our country, there is no one with boosted B series

The B16 has one of the better flowing heads. Plopping a B20 on it isn't going to help your cause.

Get a complete B16, make sure it is up to snuff by doing the proper maintenance on it, then install your turbo kit and make sure you get a good tune on it.
