Bryson,

Man, get a set of ef-1's (Rocket's) Z21 cams for the ZC. They are bitchin! My engine loves them.

I'm not quite ready to turbo yet (yep, still gonna run the T28/HKS combo)...I've been working on getting this ready for the CRX:

Hrmmm...

I'm going to try and find some people with the VIS SIR hood for usdm lights, and see how much room it really does add.

Sonny...

How much are those cams? I was going to run just Crower Regrinds in the built ZC, but if you reccomend these I'll look into them!

What is that pic of? Do you mean your working on your welding skills?

Well, actually, vis doesn't mak them sir c/f hood for the usdm headlights, you have to go to fiber images for that.

I would definitely get Rocket's cams, Bryson! They make awesome power up top and I haven't really tuned them yet. Just dropping them in knocked 3 tenths off in the 1/4.

He charges $225 plus a set of ZC cores. If you need them right away, I'll trade you for your SC50.

OH, so they are regrinds. Do you have the specs on them?

I'm most likely not going to run them in this motor, but definetly the built motor.

Thanks for the info Sonny!
Bryson

OH BTW, I have another question for ya...What head gasket are you running? A couple people that I've talked too have said thier new A1 gaskets have been paper? If this is true, then I'm screwed because I was planing on having GE just bore me out a stocker.

What would you reccomend? Cometic...SCE copper? The block will be step decked not O ringed, by R/S.

Here are the specs for the zc ef-1 cams from their site ZC D16A1
Z21 --> 262 duation 10.4mm lift Strong NA, Wild FI (Available for order in regrind)

No Picture Yet - Very similiar to L21

HKS makes metal head gaksets for the zc but you have bored yours out but they raise the c/r .4 for the gommet and .5 for the bead.

I'm running a Cometic .040" MLS gasket. The OEM ZC/D16A1 gasket is a graphite POS. You might wanna try http://www.raceeng.com and see what they can do for you as far as bore size. They're a hardcore little shop that often stocks stuff that is really difficult to get.

I've been comparing ZC headflow to other D16 recently, and am pleasantly surprised. Given the distinct loss in performance my friend underwent when we traded his high mileage ZC for a cherry D16Z6, under boost, same car same turbo setup, I'd speculate you can hit your 250 whp at less than 12 psi. Beware of overpowering that poor stock ZC :>

Cool...well I've got all winter to build up the new motor, so I'm not in desperate need (however, I am kinda worried about blowing the stocker now ).

I wonder if I could get a Cometic bored out?

Dave...

Yeah, I'm trying for 250hp MAX, only at the track with the stock motor. I said 12psi, because I'm going to have it run pretty rich (11-11.5:1), and I'm also at 5800ft. I'd be perfectly content with making 250hp at 12psi or less.

I only made about 170hp at 12psi with my T-25 setup just for comparison...

And hey...I don't even really care if I blow the motor...this motor is basically just the test bed for the turbo setup. I used it to build, create, and now test the setup, before I install the built motor. While I'm at it, I might as well see how much hp I can run on this COMPLETELY stock ZC....

Is that for both cams or just the intake? My crower ZC cams are 268 duration for the intake and 256 for the exhaust.

That is for both cams. The intake and exhaust cams have the same specs.
