Default Sneak Peak... Of my New Turbo Setup (Race ZC) More Coming Soon!

Well all Summer I was trying to get this setup complete.. But it took so freaking long, Finally it is back from the exhaust shop with a custom equal length manifold. Sporting my 60-1 T4 Turbo. Using a Tial 40mm Gate as well...

Still alot more to come, I have a custom homemade Air/Water intercooler setup that I have designed. It will be mounted inside the car.

Since no one makes high flow intake manifolds for the ZC, I had a custom one built, it is just about done. It looks very nice! basically the same thing as the STR/Venom manifolds, but I have a 80mm LS1 Throttle Body mounted to it. Using 920cc Venom Fuel Injectors.

Should be a pretty nice setup once I am done.. My goal is 10's in the 1/4 and about 400hp or so..

Impressive! Nice job, Jeff! Keep us posted. I'd love to see more photos especially of the intake manifold.

i personally think you went a little overkill on the turbo. A 60-1 is going to be a LAG monster on that small of an engine. And you dont need a 60-1 to make 400hp...a t3/t4 would have been just fine. I have DSM friends making close to 600hp on 60-1s.

I honestly think that as well.. If it becomes to much of a problem I can always switch back to my T3/04e I have.. I just got such a good deal on this turbo I could not pass up.. I am hoping the flow design of my manifold will help spool times... who knows...

The manifold should help spool a far amount..it looks beautiful!! A good set of turbo cams, if you can find any, will also help things out.

I can understand about the turbo..good deals are hard to pass up. If it doesnt work out you can always just sell the turbo and try something else.

Good luck on your project..please keep us informed

Nice dude!

So i take it this will be a drag only car? With the lack of an evap canister, under hood fuse box, windshield wiper motor, headlights.....ya know the little things I'm sure you'll get a nice cooling effect on the turbo with it being right in the ait flow path through the headlight housing

over kill on a turbo...is there a such thing. Stay with the 60-1 it will work far better especially since its a straight t4. A 60-1 will spool faster than an extremely big t3/t4 becaue of the larger turbine especially if the t3t4 only has a stage 3 wheel. I know thats contradicting the rule of thumb but it is true.

The car is basically going to be a drag car only.. The exhaust exits right in front of the RH Tire. It sounds very nice as well.

I got the turbo from a buddy of mine who was running 10.00 et's and just upgraded to a T68. He was making 550hp with this Turbo, and since he upgraded, he is now running 9.7's and around 650hp. He bought that 60-1 New for 1000 bucks, I got it used for 600 bucks with the set of 900cc injectors so hopefully it will work out ok on my car. I just may have to change my Horsepower goal to something else then.

Thanks for the comments guys!

very very sweet!!! if you dont mind my asking but how much did you pay for all of this custom stuff. also from the look of the exhaust manifold looks like there is room for ac. i know you will not run it but could that be a possiblity with this mani?

I think I got a pretty fair deal on this manifold setup, It was $600 (not including any of the flanges) so about $725 for everything (including downpipe & wastegate piping). It took over a month for the guy to build since it was a honda and only thing he really works on are 1000+Hp Domestics. He does great work for decent prices, he has done alot of our custom Mitsu downpipes on our homemade turbo setups.

Could this setup work with AC? I really dont see why not, The compressor and condesnor all have room, it would just be routing the AC lines.

725 is not bad at all in my opinon. it is basicly a full race set up and since it is that long i am sure he could of done a tang/divide setup.

Is the manifold Stainless Steel? If so I hope the turbo had been well braced as I'm sure you know that stainless cracks if theres weight attached when it gets HOT. Whats the story with the extra long runners I know its equal length and that you probably only could fit the turbo in the way you have, but do the long runners not add more lag?? Anyway very very nice oh and what kind of innerds are you using in the motor .

He's gonna run the stock injectors, stock pump, and a VAFC.

Seriously, I think he's still running a Zdyne.

that turbo spools at 6000 on a 10-1 1.9L gsr motor..........how the hell is it gonna spool on a 1.6 zc motor that only revs to 8000???

Thanks Tyler, but I already heard you tell me that once...

I know 2 people that are running 60-1 on SOHC D16's that are running 10's. Using simple exhaust manifolds (short runners etc).

I have no doubt in my mind its going to be a lag monster, but it should work decently... Like I said if it doesnt I can take it off and use something else, or get a smaller exhaust housing.

I am using SECU Gold from Zdyne, I just got my intake manifold back today, it looks very nice! I will be posting some pics after I get done polishing it.

Btw, My motor is almost 10.1
