Default Some ceramic coated hotness

just got my manifold and exhaust housing to my turbo ceramic coated.

my tubular manifold gives off so much heat, my hood paint is cracking, and it steams like crazy in the rain.

I've never seen a black ceramic coat like this. it is very very smooth, like a powdercoat job!

Looks nice, let us know if it makes a big difference.

Why did you coat the compressor housing instead of the turbine housing though?

I would like to know what it is too, I have a friend that has the high temp powder coat from eastwood, I was going to let him coat my new manny but it will probably just chip off and I dont want to ceramic wrap it.

haha, i know they have black ceramic coating , i use it all the time. But, it's not glossy and smooth like that, it's more of a flat black with a bit of texture to it. I could be wrong, but my guess is that it's powder coated.

the shop was suprised too. they have a company near by do this work, and they've sent tons of manifolds to get this kind of job done. normally they do silver, but i chose black.

I've seen ceramic coats that start out fairly smooth, but turn flat/powdery once they get setup hot. Let us know once you put that sucker on and run with it.

This is ceramic coated satin black.

That is high temp powdercoating for sure, you can just tell by looking at how it was applied. I have seen a lot of different black finishes, and I have never seen that available from any ceramic producer.

I went with the gray ice finish... Its not as glossy now that it has been heat cycled... but it does not appear satin.... said to be good to 2000 degrees... the chromex finish is only good to 1300 they say.

PICS:

The coating and heat wrap I did on the DP, and wastegate dump made a huge difference in underhood temps.... they coated the manifold on the inside as well...

happy with the results thus far...

Id reccomend it.
