Default some build advice

hi everyone i was out of this game for a bit and now i came back just to build a single cam turbo for my little brother. We have already a Y8 head and some nice D16Y5 (vti) block that we want to build. here is the stuff im planing to get fot block:
-Eagle H rods.
-Vitara 8.5:1 with stock bore at 75mm(i dont want to put the sleve weak by boring then)
-balance crankshaft(stock)
-ARP head bolts
-ARP rod bolts
this is for head:
-stock everything!
now i'm planing more than 18psi of boost, what type of valves not to expensive would you recomend me, as same of retainers and camshaft! also one more question i will get a cometic head gasket with stock bore at 75mm but it has a thick 0.XX number what its means? THIS IS A TRACK PROJECT NOT FOR STREET! thanks

0.XX refers to the thickness of the head-gasket. Upon ordering, it depends on what compression ratio you're aiming for. Usually Cometic gives you a 0.30 but you can order them thinner or thicker. Thinner for higher compression and thicker for lower compression.

0.3"??? I haven't heard of a 3/tenths gasket before... unless you can't read decimals and meant 0.030"?

You dont want to lower the compression any lower, 8.5:1 is plenty low, stock thickness head gasket is what you want, and cometic is not needed, a stock one will do great.

Also springs/retainers and aftermarket cam are not needed for 300 whp.

Build the bottom, keep top stock, use a 50 or 57 trim t3/t4E turbo and tune to 300 whp, piece of cake man.

Yeah the vitara/custom rod is good to go at 8.5:1 compression.

Use any flywheel you want, it makes no difference.

Make sure you have a good clutch that can handle the power.

As far as "holding" psi or how many psi it takes for 300 whp.

The stock head and the built bottom end will hold as much "psi" as you can throw at it, it's not about psi, its about horse power, and that motor will hold 400+ whp so 300 whp is a breeze.

How many psi to make your 300 whp goal? Nobody knows the answer to that, it depends on what turbo you use, what fuel you use, what turbo manifold you use, and how good your tune is.

It could take anywhere from 14 to 25 psi to reach your goal. You wont know untill you get it on a dyno and start tuning it.
