Default sohc turbo choice help?

sorry about posts like these guys but i don't know how to read compressor maps etc.

Basially my friend with an ex wants a turbo to spool around 4500-5000 rpm and hits pretty hard. He will be getting some head work to allow him to rev to about 8 grand.

SO what are the choices? Is a t3 60-1(not t3/t4) too big for him? How about just a t3/t4b? I have no idea what trim etc would be something suitable for that range.

T3/T4B is probably your best bet for this motor. I don't know if it's going to make a lot of power when it's straining up to 8k though.

What is your friend's ultimate goal? If he is looking at making ~300 hp, I would suggest a T28 from the Nissan Pulsar GTiR. They can easily support 300 whp. Not only does it have pretty good spool, but it will pull very hard until redline. They are $650.00 + shipping. Email me @ louisanaya@hotmail.com. Otherwise I would suggest a Straight T3 or one of the smaller T3/T04E's.

sorry he's not looking for quick spool...basically he's looking for a bit of traction control by spooling a bit later. I'm pretty sure the t3/t4 variety is the best way to go for him...i jus tneed to figure the trim and .ar to get now.

How much boost is looking to running?

Try a T3 Super 60 trim, I did the mapping on this compressor for my D16 and seem best suited but I am looking to run 10psi as low boost and 15psi as high boost. All on built motor etc..

I run a T3/T4 (.63 A/R and .57 Trim) on my D16Z6 and it spools by about 5,000 to 5,200 RPM. Once it hits, it hits hard. I run it at 7 for daily driving and 10 when I want to race someone (thanks Hondata). If your buddy doesn't care about the lag, then I would try something like that.

This is what you are asking for.

This what you really want. Why would you want useless power at over 5000? The car will be a dog off the line and your 60' times would be pathetic. Get the T3 Super 60 or a T3 60 trim. If you don't want the T3 you have, e-mail me.

what wheel did u use, e or b? That turbo sounds exactly what my friend needs.

[EDIT]
He doesn't want 300+ WHP, at least not that I know of. He just wants something so he can daily drive it and can give his ex coupe a bit more *****. I think he got sick and tired of losing to utterly stock cars In anycase yeah he basically figured out where he wanted his power..and the turbo describe sounds perfect.
