Default SOHC JRSC Belt Fitment

Long story short I picked up a 97 civic ex off ebay last week for cheap. The car has a d16y8 with a JRSC supercharger on it. The supercharger is not hooked up on the car. I got a new belt and the belt does not fit. I have the tensioner pully as loose as it will go and the belt still needs about another 2" to get around the pulleys.

I checked the part # on the belt with the part # on Jacksons website and the numbers match. I am sort of leaning toward that the car has the wrong crank pulley on it. From what I have gathered searching the Jackson kit comes with a different crank pulley for the car?? Is this correct? Any other ideas?

I see people also switch the crank pulleys for more boost?

I am not very familiar with Superchargers. I want to make sure the supercharger works because I want to take it off and sell it but dont want to sell someone a supercharger that has issues.

Thanks for any help.

BTW This kit will be for sale in the near future for a good price if anyone is interested or would be more interested in trading for d16 turbo parts.

I did search for a while and couldnt find anything on this.

The 96-2000 D series JRSC kits come with a special crank pulley that is a 3 rib alternator pulley and if memory serves me right, it is smaller diameter than the OEM EK pulley.

I also see mention of people running the y8 crank pully since it is larger for more boost. What belt do they use. I looked around and tried to find another 3 rib belt that was longer and every place I went said they had and could not get anything longer than what I have. This has really become a pain.

You could easily get a 4 or more rib belt and carefully cut the extra ribs off with a sharp knife. I've done that many times, and it works like a hot damn. I also happen to have the JRSC EK D series pulley, spare, that I could sell you for a reasonable amount of money if you're interested.

I will try the 4 rib belt a shot first. If that doesnt work I will get in touch with you about the pulley. Thanks for the help. Appreciate it.

From the time I used a A6 crank pulley to a Z6 to a Y8 I used the same belt everytime. If your idlers are like mine both pulleys are adjustable. The top one has a nut adj on the back with the screw adjuster on top. The bottom on is just nutted on the back but it sits in a 2 inch slide that you can move then tighten down. Hope that helps.
