What were people using before M&W was introduced?
I guess you were having some serious problems, I used the 7al with the HVC 2 coil since 2004 with the same cap and rotor and dizzy, never had a problem. Just changed the cap and rotor.</TD></TR></TABLE>
what the hell is M&W??? i googled a bunch of different stuff and can't find anything...the closest i got was a link to tony1's cam trigger setup..

I can't speak for everybody, but i can speak for alot of racers that i know of that run MSD products, most have more than 1 box... From the outside looking in, you just see them on the car and assume they don't fail.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by gLok &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">When we use msd in any of our race boats we use a "redundant" system with two boxes and two coils. Sometimes they last a season, sometimes you put a new box in every couple races.</TD></TR></TABLE>

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by NJIN BUILDR &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I have worked with msd boxes on domestics for a lot of years. There aren't any experienced stock car racers that don't have at least one spare in the trailer. It wasn't uncommon for me to have eight or ten questionable boxes at the end of the season to send to msd to have checked.Usually only one or two came back as OK. Any time the car was "off" the box got switched. Our engine dyno had one wired into the panel and that got changed every year.</TD></TR></TABLE>

These are guys with real experience talking, not guy who have had a box on their car and not had a problem. When you've been in the racing industry for any length of time, and had your hands in this stuff, you've seen plenty of failures.
