Smoking when in VTEC. wtf?
I havw forged internals in my Z6 with 1800 miles on it. When I drive around normally, no smoke, i can even boost it pretty hard, and still no smoke until i really hammer on it and it goes into vtec. then it starts shooting what looks like some oil smoke. anyone else ever have this happen? it's not rings, i know that much. my valve guides maybe? just because of the high rpms?

my engine is also built
and has 7k miles now
and compression are 190 all around
and i also smoke when i gun it hard
wich apears also blueish smoke
i guess is the fact that built motors have looser specs, and under high HP aplications it might smoke some...
but hey i am not sure

Re: Smoking when in VTEC. wtf? (Muckman)
It was tuned as well as I could considering I don't have a dyno within 500 miles. I do have a PLX Wideband hooked up, so I tuned it to 14.7 under normal driving conditions, and under WOT its pretty rich. Usually in the 12:1 ratio zone, which i'm told is pretty good for a boosted car. I was just driving it again here and it doesn't seem to do it all the time. I gave her some good boost in 1st and 2nd and didn't see anything when i looked back. I'm just gonna go easy on it until i get some more time to play with it.
