Smoke out out dipstick hole
What would cause smoke (oil burning smell) to come out of the dipstick hole? I have the Greddy turbo kit and because the manifold is touching the dipstick hole, it melted the rubber on the dipstick, causing it to not seal properly. The past two week, whenever i would drive on the freeway, smoke would just fill up the whole cabin and set out a whole trail of smoke. It was so bad that i had to get a tow to get my car home. I thought it was oil dripping onto the downpipe and smoking, but after looking under the car, that doesn't seem to be the problem. Today, i was watching the car idle and saw a hint of smoke coming from the dipstick hole. While revving it to about 4k rpm, smoke just bellowed out of that hole. What's causing this. Will over filling the oil do this. I was probably 3/4 of a quart over the full mark because of my faulty dipstick. Is this what usually happens when the oil level is too high. Any clues? How much smoke usually comes out from that hole? I'm not going to run a dipstick anymore, i plugged up that hole with a long screw.

I think you might want to do a compression check. smoke coming out of the dipstick hole means there's compression getting into the crank case. you might have a bad ring or something. does is smoke at all out of the exhaust?

i solve the problem, i just took a old metal rod about the size of the dipstick hole with a 90 degree bend and stuck it in the hole. I keep a new dipstick in the trunk in case i need to check oil levels. So now, no more dipstick to burn and no smoke coming from that hole.

A 'minute' trace of smoke from the dipstick hole is normal. Excess smoke means there is a problem. This is caused by blow-by. Something is wrong with the pistons or rings.
A compression test will NOT tell you that something is wrong. It may give good comp. results, yet you still have an issue where the rings aren't sealing properly, etc etc.
The only way to know for sure is to do a leak down test.
