Default smoking

I have a 94 Integra LS w/ drag kit, 160,000 mi, safc hack, 440s, 255 lph. Just today I noticed that smoke is pouring out from the breather filter. It smells clean, and I am wondering why this is happening, help! Also, I am blowing alot of what seems to be alot of blue smoke out the exhaust, especially when I hit full boost and shift it puffs a cloud the stays behind in the air. Put it this way, I have used about a full quart of oil in a week, granted I have done alot of full boost runs. I am assuming there is a large amount of blow by on the pistons. Anyone experience this especially the smoke coming out of the breather filter(scaring me)

Thanks captain obvious, I am looking for a solution to the breather filter smoking mainly, not a wise *** remark. I Know I have to rebuild it, I am just running it till it blows up or till winter, The motor is cheap anyways!/ probably go with a b20 built, more torque baby!

You're welcome captain tact.

The solution is new rings and possibly pistons.

Yep... that sounds like the solution to me. Your ringlands might have gone to hell, i recommend replacing everything asap before things get worse...

I might suspect the valve seals.
Seems you are burning a LOT of oil, and because it is getting into the valve cover that makes me suspect the valve seals.

Good luck, and be careful.

Doubt it. I was smoking pretty bad and figured I owuld replace the valve seals. Well, that wasnt the problem. I figure one of the oil rings took a ****. Rollerwaves are on the list to go in.

I would do a leakdown with the valvecover off to get a better idea of where the leakage is coming from. I heard mine coming from the oil return holes in the head, but still with good compression--so its definetly an oil ring.

93LSivic: You have had the same problem that he is describing right? Did you have plumes of oil coming from your valve cover too? That's the only reason I suspect the seals. Or maybe an exhaust valve isn't sealing correctly when seated.
