Default smoke when shifting help!

my friend has a del sol with a stock b16a3 that he has turboed. every time he shifts the car smokes. he has ben told that this is due to oil not draning properly out of the turbo. could this be the problem or is it more likely to be the motor?

blue = oil. Take a look at his return line and make sure there are no kinks. Is it pretty much a straight line?

I didn't get a chance to look at his line while he was hear. but he said that it didn't go straight and that was the problem. it that possible that the line could be causing this. my dad was following us and he said it would smoke all the time not only when he was on the gas hard. does this mean the rings?

the oil can come from many places.. valve seals, turbo seals, or even rings..

my guess would be the valve seals...
