Why the hell would I do that, sorry for trying to ******* help. When you have weak valve stem seals the vacuum from the cylinders upon decel causes oil to be pulled past the seals and burned in the cylinders. But you knew that right

this is kinda low tech, but its a good indication.
go up a hill, and then coast down it with the car in 4th/5th gear without giving it any gas.
If it puffs blue smoke when you take it out of gear and give it some gas, your pistons rings are done.

no problem.
Its the high vaccuum that is caused from going downhill underload that causes oil to be "sucked into" the combustion chamber. So really, it could be your oil control rings, or your valve guides/seals. no way to be sure, other than to dissassemble and check.

lol, I was like "Jesus...does this guy have terrets or what?"
And as for your question, as long as it doesnt smoke on acceleration I think its the valve stem seals. Have someone drive behind you and get on it, that the best way to figure it out. Compression test will tell you what kind of condition your rings are in.

This is really good info, I had the same problem.. turns out it was one of my problems though, have the head checked, and do a Comp test, leak down. good luck.
