I just got my SMC+ and I have a d16y7 engine, in the manual, it does not list the engine, I am just wondering should I just follow the instuctions for the y8 (SMC 3)since I am guessing they are both obd2 and practically of the same car and the ecu's are interchangable (meaning same wiring)

or which one should I follow??

i know that in the original the diagrams were completely off...i had to get signals directly from sources besides the map on the ecu harness..u got a helms or a haynes manual?

same issue using safc. they are the same with the exception of the vtec on the harness. cross refrence and double check the wires with a haynes or helms manual.

 

You should use the: SMC 3 It is the same for the years 96-98.
