if it is what i think it is, you need to set the fan right in the center of the rad where you want it to mount, then stick the zip-tie pieces through each fan mount, pushing through (and bending a few) fins. then you should have gotten 4 little square-cut pads with a sticky side and a non-sticky side. you also should have the 4 round pieces that slide over the zip-tie pieces. push the pad down onto the long part of the zip tie sticky side up until it reaches the rad. then slide the round pieces onto these, make sure they are tight , cut off the extra slack, and you are good to go.

still really not sure. the "mounting hardware" only came with 4 zip ties and 4 round mounting plugs that slide into the fan. No sticky one either sides. Ill post some pics

What's the problem again?
Put the fan on the radiator, mark where the zip ties will go through, open the fins up a bit with a small screw driver, then zip tie the fan on there.
Maybe I'm not understanding the problem, but all the slim fans I have installed have been super easy.

Re: slimfan install (EJ1 wilcox)
just was not sure about zip tieing it to the fins to hold the fan on. So open the marked fins with a screw driver and just zip tie it to the fins? seemed like it would leak or there would be a better way to secure it than that.

Looks like your missing the round clips ( there circular, little clips with a rough surface ) . The zip ties comes threw, and secures that way.

The cheap fans don't come with that sort of T-strap zip-tie. You just push the regular zip-tie through the hole, between 2 cores, flip it around to the next space between cores on the back, then push through and secure.
Think of the core behind the hole as a tree, the fan as your bike's frame, and you're chaining your bike to it.

Actually ours do, they come with a zip tie then a round clip, the round clip does on one side and the teeth on the zip ties pull threw. I could get a pic if needed.

I'm almost 100% sure that most autoparts stores carry them. At least the autoparts store that I used to work at had them. It was a few bucks for the whole fan mounting kit.
I would just use zipties though, it's just as easy and secure.
Oh, don't secure it just to the fins, zip tie it around the tubes.
