I've noticed that i can hear a slight ping (detonation) at 5psi of boost, but it's only breif and it doesn't happen at any other boost level.Any sugestions.
I'm not runing lean because it happens when i richen the fuel mixture up, and it still happens when the weather is cold (i was thinking that it was related to the hot weather that have had all summer)

 

do you have stock timing? if so, you should retard it a few degrees...give more info, as well. are you intercooled? Running premium gas? what fuel set-up?

 

timing is set at 14 degrees. i run 92 octane, and for fuel delivery i have a holley 255lph high pressure fuel pump,vortec fmu (6:1), rc 310cc injectors,aem adjustable fpr (which is 1:1 under boost),I have the greddy intercooler.It happens even with the 8:1 fmu.

 

might wanna go to the 8:1 disc....thats what i run with my 310s

 

are you sure that it's pinging?
get an afc is the only thing i can think of

 

What do you run for base fuel pressure? if i go with the 8:1 disc my fuel pressure will raise 9:1 because if the aem.My car runs even more rich with the 8:1.
