First, don't have a shop install them that has not done it many times before, on Honda blocks and has the right equipment. Most machine shops will tell you "sure, we can install sleeves," but there are precious few that can properly install ductile sleeves. If you search at all, you will find several good sleeve companies.

Second, please don't buy anything from that sack of **** Javier. He has ripped off a LOT of people over the years.

JGE isnt known to be a very "reputable" company so keep that in mind when doing business with a shady company

Since you are in Vancouver take your block to Portland Engine Rebuilders in Portland, Or. (503) 230-1276. They can help you out with sleeving your block and they know what they are doing. They can supply you with sleeves and installation.

There are a number of reputable sleeving companies in the Marketplace. Personally i would go with Benson, Darton or Golden Eagle. Spend the money to get it done right rather than risking your build on a half-assed sleeving job

I wouldnt recommend a shop that didnt know what they are doing. They have been installing Darton Sleeves for about 8 years now. They know what they are doing.

Thats good...i just think its a good idea to look around before doing anything. I've heard more than my fair share of sleeving horror stories

OH, man. First JGE than IB, your going the opposite direction. If your looking for just a set of sleeves, go with Darton. if you want a whole sleeve install, go with Golden Eagle Mfg. you can't go wrong. good luck with your search.

*let's not start ANOTHER "who's sleeves are better" thread.

lol thanks cereal, i was looking through some other sleeve threads and some guy mentioned ib cause they did eagle sleeves or something, so i thought i would ask.
but i have talked to the guys at PER and i think i will be going with them even though it is a little more then i wanted to spend i think after i figure in shipping costs it is almost the same to send it off so ill just stick with them.

It really is best to play it safe when getting sleeves. I have seen so many people who have ended up with small coolant leaks or have had the sleeves drop. Its a real nightmare to go through all of the work and money to build a motor, then have to tear it down again a month later.

Best of luck with your project.
