hey, i just installed my oil pressure gauge in that same exact spot this morning!! and i didnt even see ur pic yet!! yea i can't see it ALL the time, but most of the time its easy to see and just a move of the head puts it in view. plus the only place u can really see it from is the driver seat and standing at teh back window. not sure about urs, but in my del sol, u cant see it from either side window or the passenger seat. it was the best spot i could think of to tuck it away.

i didnt use a nice pod like u tho. looks good

Yeah, I like that spot too. I just dremeled an autometer single a-pillar pod until it fit up there flush and went to town. In Integras, there's a little vinyl piece not too big at all that's part of the center console. I really think some company could make some money selling replacement vinyl covers for gauges to be put there.

What kind of materials do you guys use to locate these gauges? Like is that plastic or something that you cut out to place your gauges in DIN slots? I want to place my AVC-R where my factory radio was, but I need to know what you bought.
I used to use ABS panels (used by car audio installers) but now I just make carbon fiber panels instead.
The ABS works well and is easy to manipulate but the carbon fiber panels are a nice touch that not everyone has....plus no one ever believes that I hand layed the carbon fiber myself.

I'll post a pic..once I find one.....hmm, I can only find an old one with the Autometers installed.

you can lay carbon fiber using 2 pieces of glass.

Apply resin on the fiber and smooth it out on the glass getting rid of the bubles. THen sandwich it with the other glass...when it dries..whalllaaa carbon fiber sheet.

It isn't difficult. I worked with fiberglass beforehand, moving over to carbon fiber not a problem (better as well). I have made alot of stuff from cf.

For flat sheets I suggest using "new" plexi-glass sheets instead of glass sheets. New plexi will have a similar surface finish as the glass, but the removal of the cured carbon sheet is easiler. All you have to do is flex the plexi and the carbon sheet will pop off. Plus glass can break and make a mess of your workspace.

I can make other suggestion for needed tools and some tips. IM me if you wish.

Sign shops sell ABS plastic. I bought a 4' x 8' sheet for $78. That's cheap compared to online suppliers.

i wonder if i could buy a sheet of carbon fiber and cut out a slot pretty clean ? How do you get the carbon fiber or abs plastic to mount in the din space with a tight fit, just cut it accordingly, or something else ?

use cardboard to get the shape, use tape to fill in the crevices. then trace it on the CF sheet then use a dremel tool.

Here's the one in my car...

Its very nice, because now there aren't two tachs in the car, and also unless you really look for it, or are practically leaning through the drivers window, you won't see the gauge there... it's also well within your vision as a driver... very easy to see

pain in the **** to get in there though.

Can anyone give me some more info on the HKS Camp? What kind of cars will it work with, what do you connect it to, since they don't make it anymore does anyone make something similar, etc. Would it work on a car with sequential speed pro?

As far as stealth gauges goes, I made a pretty nice pod for my mustang before. I used a single gauge A-pillar pod as a mould and made a cluster of 3 gauges that held boost, fuel pressure, and nitrous pressure
