Skunk2 IM + D16Y8
Am I going to have any clearence issues, or knocking issues with this IM on the d16y8?
I searched because I thought I read something about this earlier, just wanting to clear up the problem now before I actually get to work on the car.
Peace.

Just threw mine on my car (2000 ex coupe) last nite with a Golden Eagle fuel rail. There was only one real issue I can think of with the manifold/rail. After swapping over the fuel rail studs/bolts to bolt on the rail, the stock injectors sat losely between the manifold and rail as if it sat too high. For that I had to use LS injector seals or use two of the d16 ones (b18b ones are thicker). Not sure if it was because of the rail or the manifold since i didn't bolt up the stock rail to test. Otherwise, the clearance at the firewall is ok, a little bit tighter but nothing serious. Also, some of the stock coolant hoses, I had to use hose clamps (the screw type) because the stock hoses were bigger than the nipples on the manifold

Good info thanks.
I'll also be using the golden eagle fuel rail with 550cc injectors, but they come with clips so shouldn't have a problem in that area.

the problem is not the clips. it's the actual fitment between the rail and the manifold. like it was easy to slide the injector up and down while bolted down.
