Icon5 Single cam vtec, boosted?

Not sure if i'm in the right forum but if i am please point in wrong direction.

I have a 94' Hatchback, single v. I plan on boosting it by gear on the s300, 12 or 16 psi the most. I'm going to run on 440cc RC engineering fuel injectors. I plan on getting pistons and rods, not sure what type yet. New cams? Trying to get to around 300HP and just wanted to know if anyone has any point of directions to go to. Thank you.

First thing: you will need larger fuel injectors. 440cc injectors will max out at around 260 wheel HP at conventional fuel pressures... and running injectors at 100% duty cycle leaves no room for the ECU to add fuel for colder conditions or denser air. 550's max out around 350 wheel HP... I suggest you go at least this large. Rods and pistons will help the engine survive long term... SOHC blocks will require a bit of block modification for rod clearance.

You really should read the FAQ sticky. It's there for a reason. While we're at it, though, Google "injector size calculator". You'll quickly see why 440's aren't enough. PSI doesn't mean anything. Forget about it. Don't even think about PSI. Just get the proper sized turbo to reach your goals, and run whatever PSI it takes to get to those goals. Forget PSI is even a thing. You have a single cam engine, so you wouldn't need new cams, just a single cam, and even then, that isn't entirely necessary. Just pay attention to the necessity of an upgraded valvetrain that comes along with an upgraded cam. Pistons and rods depends on budget, but you can't go wrong with Eagle rods and CP or Wiseco pistons. If for some reason you don't have a D16Z6, then do yourself a favor and get a Z6 crank. Dual oil journals are a good thing to have, and only the Z6 and A6 cranks have them in the D series world.

Also, do yourself a favor, sit down, and plan all of this out beforehand. Get prices. Figure out how much things are going to cost. For the price of building the D series to handle 300 WHP, you (and your wallet) might be better served boosting a B swap, which won't require any motor work to get to your goals.

B series will make that no problem and will probably be in your budget
