Simple Turbo Question...help a noob out :(
Title Update: Simpe = Simple (3:00 am will do that to you )
Hey guys, I have been reading up on turbos the past few months and understand the basics, all the parts i need, the engine and fuel management, tuning, etc.
I do not know what my specific setup will be yet, but that shouldn't be relevant to my question. I will be boosting my 2000 Civic Cx (d16y7), which currently has a/c that I would like to keep.
I was just curious if the turbo mani is the only thing that determines whether you can keep a/c or not.. Will there be any other parts that might get in the way that I should evaluate before buying? I wish I had a full parts list figured out, but as of now the only thing that is going in the setup for sure is a t25 gsx turbo with the internal wastegate (for the time being). I will start collecting parts in the near future and figured I would ask this question before I waste any money (want to do everything right the first time!). TIA for any input

well the downpipe or IC pipes could be a problem however they are a custom item so once you install/fabricate them they will work out fine. really the only thing that you need to purchase "ac compatible" is the manifold.

I'm in Cali by the beach so I opted to get a ramhorn mani.
No a/c, PS and no windshield washer res.
But setup makes power and looks good
Go with what you will be comfortable driving around with.

Thanks guys!
I'm really not looking for much, just a basic turbo kit and a good tune. I'm looking for 5psi daily, and 7psi "race".. So for the lack of power I will be throwing out, I wouldn't need a ramhorn mani or anything. I will need to find a place around here that can fab up a downpipe and intercooler piping that will allow a/c though...hope it won't be too hard.

down pipe should be ordered from the same place that you get the manifold to make it easy. you might have to send them your turbo to granite the fitment. you shouldn't really judge your goals by PSI. what whp range are you looking for? on stock motor safe and reliable for daily driving is around 200-215 whp. on a small turbo (t25) it will take more boost to reach that goal but that don't make it "unreliable". I'm going to be running a t25 but my whp goals are around the 230 mark. and just pick up a nice log manifold. check the sponsors forum.
