gump·tion (gmpshn)
n. Informal

Boldness of enterprise; initiative or aggressiveness.
Guts; spunk.
Common sense.

Gumption = initiative.

Must have been thinking of one-fab that had it listed on their site, or maybe even someone else. I'm sure he could make a 3" quite easily though, but if all you want is a 3" downpipe WHY run the sidewinder V2? Run a minime, done.

I'd like to know if it's Compatiable with accords and preludes as well?

I'll CERTAINLY be getting this for my LATE future turbo build. Looks crazy and bet it sounds just as nice

Props on the work

Exactly, save a lil bit of $ if you ONLY want the 3" DP

Itll work in the accords/ludes if you ditch your front motor mount AND build a custom Xmember that resides 6" in front of the motor. I would advise the use of the SideWinder V1, which has become rather popular this past year as well. Sales were down last year so I pulled it off the site, but thats going to change here rather soon! The V1 will fit with only building a custom upper radiator hose to clear everything.

that is said to be one of the best manifold styles. It holds boost perfect.

i would be conserned with the weight that manifold would add. love fab uses so thick *** piping. and it could get heavy really quick

we can make thin wall too, schedule 10, 1/4" flanges, whatever the customer needs
"Ounces make pounds, tenths makes seconds.."(sport compact car), and 100lbs = 1/10th in the quarter. It all comes down to cost and comprimise.

Why would you need to coat inside and out??

Where does the oil return line go with all that piping in the way? Do you have any pics?

Long pipe= lots of surface area= lots of heat loss

I'm running a sidewinder V1 which is ceramic coated inside and out and my engine bay temps are really high.... V2 has longer piping, so....

... don't get me wrong, they are great manifolds, I'm just trying to make a point that you would have to be insane not to ceramic coat it.

Actually, the surface area of the V2 is roughly equal to that of the V1, so it shouldnt produce much more heat. The 4" downpipe theoretically shouldnt get as hot as a 3" either because less restriction=less pressure to cause heat transfer. We are talking a few degrees here, but just shooting theoretical stuff out of my ****.
Heres one we just finished, I believe these are the first "manifold only" shots on the net yet:

NICE and close to the block

Wow!

A top-mount-side-winder

What are the advantages of this design?

Hey Cody,
do you have any pics of the sidewinder 2 from the top? Kinda like a birds-eye view.
